Manvel gave its home crowd plenty to cheer about Thursday night.
The Mavericks defeated Brazoswood 69–21 on Oct. 22 at Freedom Field, returning to the win column with a 48-point victory.
Manvel improved to 6–2 overall and 4–2 in district play, according to MaxPreps.
A Big Night on the Ground
The Mavericks finished with 485 rushing yards and 228 passing yards, combining for 713 yards of offense.
The rushing total accounted for more than two-thirds of that production, giving Manvel a substantial ground-game contribution alongside its passing attack.
After scoring six points against Shadow Creek the previous week, the Mavericks put 69 on the board against the Buccaneers.
The result marked a sharp turnaround from the 42–6 loss on Oct. 16.

Another Home Win
Thursday’s victory followed Manvel’s earlier home district wins over Alvin, 53–0, and Sam Rayburn, 63–0.
The Mavericks have now won all three of those home district matchups, with the Brazoswood game adding another high-scoring result to that stretch.
What’s Next
Manvel is scheduled to travel to Dobie on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m.
The Mavericks then return home to face Dawson on Friday, Nov. 6, also at 7 p.m., according to the posted schedule.
With two regular-season games remaining on that schedule, Manvel heads into the final stretch after a decisive response at home.
